Good Faith Estimate
You’re entitled to a written estimate of your medical expenses if you have no insurance or choose not to use it. This estimate covers expected costs for non-emergency services, including tests, prescriptions, equipment, and hospital fees. Your provider should give it to you at least one business day before your appointment. You can also request an estimate before scheduling. If your final bill is more than $400 above the estimate, you can dispute the charges. Keep a copy or photo of your estimate. To learn more, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
